Told You So

Told You So dropped as a single on May 3, 2017. It served as the second single from their fifth studio album, “After Laughter,” which saw the light of day later in the same month, on May 12, 2017.

A music video accompanied the release of Told You So, featuring the band’s members, including the charismatic Hayley Williams, performing in a car and partaking in a series of surreal and visually captivating scenarios. The video has been viewed 38 million times on YouTube and was masterminded by Zac Farro, the band’s talented drummer.

Hard Times

Hard Times made its grand debut as a single on April 19, 2017. Like Told You So, Hard Times belongs to Paramore’s fifth studio album, “After Laughter,” which arrived shortly thereafter, on May 12, 2017.

Critics showered the song with positive feedback, and it managed to make waves on various music charts.

The Video has been viewed 130 million times on YouTube.

Caught Myself

Caught Myself was written for the first installment of the popular “Twilight” film series, helmed by director Catherine Hardwicke. Though not issued as a traditional single, Caught Myself commanded attention and earned popularity due to its inclusion in the “Twilight” movie soundtrack.

The song seamlessly melds elements of alternative rock and pop-rock, emblematic of Paramore’s musical style.

Lyrically, Caught Myself delves into themes of self-discovery, introspection, and realization, mirroring the emotional and dramatic ambiance of the “Twilight” series.

“Caught Myself “was officially released as part of the “Twilight” movie soundtrack on November 4, 2008, and it found its place on the “Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.”

Pool

Pool is Hayley’s dark version of a love song. The melody of the song was one of the first written for this album. It was started by Taylor York and finished by both him and Zac Farro.

The song’s central image of diving into a pool uses water as an all-encompassing metaphor for the love she feels in her current relationship (she’s been with Chad Gilbert since 2008). However, there is a dark side to love as she threatens to drown it and she is overwhelmed by the insecurities in the current and future relationship.

In fact, Hayley and Chad are now divorced, but not because of negative feelings towards each other.

Rose-Colored Boy

Rose-Colored Boy dropped as a single on February 5, 2018, and it’s featured on Paramore’s fifth studio album, “After Laughter,” which hit the scene in May 2017.

The vocal duties for this song are handled by none other than Hayley Williams.

Rose-Colored Boy finds its primary classification within the pop-rock and new-wave genres. It’s celebrated for its lively and infectious sound, a hallmark of the musical style that Paramore fully embraced on their “After Laughter” album.

Lyrically, the song delves into the theme of maintaining optimism and a positive perspective in the face of life’s challenges. The titular “rose-colored boy” symbolizes someone who views the world with an overly optimistic or perhaps even naive outlook.

Hayley Williams started when she was very young, only 15. Paramore’s first album came out when she was 16, and it did really well.

She’s not just a singer; she’s also good at making up songs. She wrote a lot of Paramore’s songs.

In 2020, she did something new. She made her own music by herself, without the band. Her first solo album is called Petals for Armor. This music is more about her own feelings and thoughts.
