Stevie Nicks (Stephanie Lynn Nicks) was born on May 26, 1948, in Phoenix, Arizona. Because little Stephanie could not pronounce the name “Stephanie,” she gave herself the name Stevie.

In 1977, she participated in an amateur singing contest at a New York club. That night, she was discovered by Chrysalis Records and manager Terry Ellis, who offered her a record contract.
In 1979, the US platinum album “In the Heat of the Night” was released. In 1984, she released another five albums that reached platinum status in the USA.
At that time, Pat Benatar rose to become a female superstar in the US even before Madonna. The music video for “Single You Better Run” was the second music video ever to be played on MTV.

After the Bangles broke up, Susanna Hoffs started a successful solo career. In 1991, the albums “When You’re A Boy” and “1996 Susanna Hoffs” were released.
In addition to music, she has also been involved in acting. She starred in such films as “The Allnighter.” In 1993 she married the film producer and director Jay Roach (Austin Powers).
