Tobias Rahim taught 48 thousand Danes the Kurdish dance
Tobias Rahim is a Kurdish-Danish pop singer and a star in Denmark. Theo Rahim Secilmis Hasling, also known as Tobias Rahim, Toby Tabu, or Grande, was born on November 10, 1989. His mother raised him in Aarhus. He also lived in Ghana and South America. He spent two years living in a slum in the Colombian metropolis of Cali, which had a significant impact on the way he expressed himself musically.
In the previous year, Tobias Rahim established himself by releasing his solo debut, National Romantik 2021, which features the popular single “Jesus”. Additionally, he is the author of the well-known songs “Op a vaeggen” (‘up against the wall’) and “Costa Del Sol til Copenhagen“.
With a bold attitude, the 32-year-old singer plays with sincere sentiments and lyrics that push boundaries. He operates in a gray area where singing about both sex and politics is acceptable.
When he spent a few years in Colombia, Tobias Rahim had a personal interaction with the seductive music of reggaeton. He performed music as one half of the reggaeton combo Camilo & Grande when he was back in Denmark.
Tobias Rahim is a musician of Kurdish origin. At a recent concert with 48,000 Danes, Tobias taught concertgoers the Kurdish govend dance and danced with them while singing Kurder I København. Here is the footage:
Tobias Rahim Songs – English Translation
Tobias Rahim – STOR MAND (English Translation)
[Verse 1: Tobias Rahim]
I’m in Jutland, burning Cali weed
My thoughts are circling around an evergreen (Ooh, ah)
We’re teaming up in just about an hour and a half
On Grønnegade with a dollar laugh (Ooh, ah)
[Pre-Chorus: Tobias Rahim]
You say you’ll roll up if I’m roasting
While the mornings turn into nights
Everyone is blue, blue silhouettes
I just want to go even further with you
[Chorus: andreas odbjerg]
Drifting along the stream, I see the moon being blocked by you
Down at “The Last”, are we the first to go home
Take you in, take you now, take you for the rest of the summer
Here, I give you my heart in Aarhus
Have never danced with a great man
A great man like you
[Verse 2: Tobias Rahim]
And yes, I do feel like I own the city
Like Pablo Escobar in Medellín (Ooh, ah)
With a winner attitude in Bellevue
Where beautiful people give me deja vu (Ooh, ah)
[Pre-Chorus: Tobias Rahim]
You say you’ll roll up if I’m roasting
While the mornings turn into nights
Everyone is blue, blue silhouettes
I just want to go even further with you
[Chorus: andreas odbjerg]
Drifting along the stream, I see the moon being blocked by you
Down at “The Last”, are we the first to go home
Take you in, take you now, take you for the rest of the summer
Here, I give you my heart in Aarhus
Have never danced with a great man
A great man like you
[Bridge: Tobias Rahim]
There are many tears in the city of corny smiles
See you walking around alone
Don’t know what you are thinking, no
But you make me feel like a jiggalo
Who is on his way to money right now
[Interlude: Tobias Rahim]
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen
From Denmark, let me present Tobias Rahim and Andreas Odbjerg
[Chorus: andreas odbjerg]
Drifting along the stream, I see the moon being blocked by you
Down at “The Last”, are we the first to go home
Take you in, take you now, take you for the rest of the summer
Here, I give you my heart in Aarhus
Have never danced with a great man
A great man like you
